Our Platform

Transparency & Engagement

As Student Body President and Vice President, we strive to amplify student's voices specifically by increasing their representation on key committees such as the Board of Trustees and Treasury Committees. We will also send out weekly correspondence which will include events from student organizations with a description and Zoom link. We will further work to establish a university protocol for asynchronous testing and create a centralized student government message which would be centered around active engagement with the students of Carnegie Mellon.

Student Life & Wellness

We hope to create a Student Life & Wellness committee that will work directly with CaPS to improve student life, destigmatize mental health, and increase access to its services. We are also passionate about improving school spirit by working closely with the CMU bookstore, increasing attendance at sports games post-covid, and creating a community spirit day to showcase Tartan Pride. We plan to introduce a re-orientation program for current first-year students whose orientation experience was impacted by the pandemic.

Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

Our platform seeks to create a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee to be added to the Student Senate, as well as pushing for a DEI officer position in all student organizations on campus. We are looking to create a more accessible distribution of student government stipends, including stipends for DEI Committee, CoSo, UCAB, and JFC officers, President’s Cabinet, and certain senate department heads. We are also looking to make campus more accessible to those with disabilities through increasing elevator and ramp access, pushing for CMU Police training for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and more gender neutral bathrooms on campus.

Dining and Greek Life

We are looking to overcome food insecurity at CMU by increasing on-campus minimum wage and a more equitable distribution of funding for Masters and Graduate students. We also seek to expand DINEX at off-campus locations, advocate for healthier on-campus food options, and transition to re-opening on-campus dining locations for normal hours throughout the year instead of reduced covid hours. We hope to expand Panhellenic and IFC Representation in Senate and Dedicate a Greek position in the Student Leadership Conference (SLC).
